Ending up in T R A N C E
A gloomy mix of ALÉLÉFI consisting of elements of 90s referred chunky and progressive house, occasional acid elements, tripped-out and classic trance music.
We surprised ourselves by doing a special selection for this mix. We included songs that we discovered years ago but had never included in other sets. At the end we realized that this selection will end with trance music. These kinds of music selection journeys, taking turns we never planned for in the beginning, motivates us to dive even deeper into darker music worlds.
It feels very true to ALÉLÉFI and typical to keep discovering and combining new genres together. Also, the self-description of our chosen music as ‘noisy vocals, intimate melodies, naughty beats’ has been constant for us since our beginnings. It's nice to see how this description is reflected in different genres in our selection. We hope it feels similar for you.
One highlight of this mix is that one part of ALÉLÉFI Noemi Grütter with Heinrich Weingartner formed HI-NRCHY, a music production collaboration and released their first track “Lick My Heart”, on the day we played on Radio 3Fach 8th of November. So we obviously played it in our mix, danced and celebrated in the 3Fach Studio!
As often, we would like to point out some important inspirations for us, part of this mix:
One big favorite is the album “Mineral & Moss” of London local LUXE. Especially her track Peach Fuzz touches us by its minimal infrastructure that paves the way for feminine flourishing in melody and timbre. The title of the next track in the mix is already an announcement: “Best not miss” by Sally C & her friend Chunker. A hype anthem released by her own label “Big Saldo’s Chunkers”. Sally C is a great role model and trailblazer for us as a DJ and producer who champions musical diversity and doesn’t hesitate to share her musical expertise with others. The next inspiration in line is our beloved Maruwa. The Saint Petersburg DJ and producer is re-coding techno and has published in her first EP hypnotic, dreamy and atmospheric sounds. But we especially know her from the background of her recurring pumping remixes, such as “Move it” or “Meltinglove”. We like her mixes so much that we usually don’t just stick to one per set. Let's move on to an artist whose music we know & love dearly. Maara from Canada. Her first album ‘Ultimate Reward’, released in 2021, already gripped us with the hot, euphoric energy of her tracks. Her subsequent releases celebrate queerness with its hot energy, like “Serving Cunt”. Thanks for bringing this into the world! Let’s stop with In2stellar. A dynamic duo of Sarah Morgan and Georgia Bird, we recently listened at our favorite local Klub Neubad in Lucerne. They released its first techno-influenced EP last year. In our mix we want to highlight their collaborative track “Break it down” they produced with Confidence Man. We’re looking forward to collecting more of their heavy, deep and driving sounds.
